Akasha Yoga Academy: 300-Hour Online Yoga Teacher Training

Course program

The 300-Hour Online Yoga Teacher Training by Akasha Yoga Academy is an advanced program that spans three major practice areas — Hatha yoga and pranayama, yin yoga, and meditation — within a single integrated curriculum. It is delivered by a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School and qualifies graduates for RYT-500 registration when combined with a 200-hour certification.

This training is for yoga teachers and experienced practitioners who already have a foundation typically built in a 200-hour teacher training and want to deepen their expertise across multiple modalities. It suits teachers who want to expand beyond a single style and develop the ability to lead Hatha, yin, and meditation classes with confidence.

The curriculum is divided into three 100-hour parts:
– Part 1: Advanced Hatha Yoga and Pranayama, including breath-based Vinyasa in the Krishnamacharya lineage, classical asana, advanced bandhas, arm balance progressions, and pranayama.
– Part 2: Yin Yoga and Self-Inquiry, covering archetypal yin postures, restorative practice, meridian and fascia anatomy, mindfulness, loving-kindness, and contemplative inquiry.
– Part 3: Spiritual Heart Meditation, including non-dual Advaita Vedanta wisdom, mantra meditation, and how to facilitate meditation groups.

Students also complete five one-on-one feedback sessions with a supervisor and four peer-to-peer teaching practice classes (Hatha or Vinyasa, yin yoga, pranayama, and meditation).

Three senior teachers lead the program — Burkhard, Kirsten, and Devdas — all certified at the highest Yoga Alliance level (E-RYT-500). They are joined by five guest teachers, contributing a combined 85 years of teaching experience. Akasha Yoga Academy has trained more than 1,100 yoga instructors now teaching across six continents and holds ratings of 4.93/5 on Trustpilot and 4.8/5 on Google.

The format is hybrid. Students join over 45 live Zoom sessions, with eight calls offered per week to accommodate different time zones, alongside pre-recorded content and self-paced assignments. The live component is central — it provides the practice, feedback, and peer learning that advanced training requires. Graduates receive lifetime access to all videos, manuals, and materials.
