Relationship Astrology 201 – Composite Charts by Astrology University is a self-paced course taught by Brian Clark and Mark Jones. It introduces the technique of combining two natal charts into a single composite chart and reading that chart as a portrait of the relationship itself. The course pairs technical instruction with a psychological and spiritual approach to relationship work.

This course is for practising astrologers and serious students who already have a grounding in natal astrology and ideally experience with synastry, particularly those who want to add composite chart analysis to their toolkit for client work in relationship analysis. It is the second course in Astrology University’s Relationship Astrology sequence within the four-year Professional Astrologer Diploma.

The course is organised in two parts. In Part One, Brian Clark introduces the composite chart as a synergy that produces something greater than the sum of two individual charts. He covers the technical details of composite chart calculation, the character of midpoints as the composition of the chart, and first steps toward interpretation through the planets as mutual images and the houses as shared spaces and places.

In Part Two, Mark Jones offers a psychological and spiritual approach to working with composite charts, drawing on evolutionary astrology and the role of Pluto in describing the soul-level intent of a union. The two parts together demonstrate how to move between natal, synastry, and composite work in a complete relationship reading.

Illustrative case studies include the creative friendships of Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung and of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, alongside the intimate partnerships of Pierre and Marie Curie and Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Required texts are Skymates II: The Composite Chart by Steven Forrest and Jodie Tighe, and From the Moment We Met by Brian Clark, with Astrology: A Language of Life Volume IV – Relationship Analysis by Robert Blaschke as supplementary reading.

Brian Clark is a Melbourne-based astrologer with more than 50 years of practice, founder of Astro*Synthesis, an FAA-accredited astrology teacher, and the author of eight books including From the Moment We Met and The Sibling Constellation. Mark Jones is an astrologer and psychosynthesis therapist based in Bristol, England, a Senior Instructor at Astrology University, and the author of three books on evolutionary astrology including Healing the Soul and The Soul Speaks.

The format is self-paced. The course offers more than six hours of pre-recorded video instruction across four sessions, paired with audio files, downloadable handouts, weekly reading assignments, and homework. Students who enrol in the diploma track can attend live Q&A sessions with the instructors and receive written feedback on their homework along with an exam review. Audit students access the same study materials and videos at a lower price without graded feedback.
