The Houses in Chart Interpretation by Astrology University is a four-week online course taught by senior instructors Kelly Surtees and Tony Howard. It explores how the twelve astrological houses are calculated, what they mean across ancient and modern traditions, and how house rulership can sharpen chart interpretation.

This course is for students who already have a basic understanding of the planets and signs and want to deepen their grasp of the houses. It suits beginners moving past the introductory stage as well as intermediate students who want clearer, more confident chart interpretation. No certification is required to enroll.

Kelly Surtees is a counselling astrologer with more than 15 years in private practice and a senior instructor at Astrology University. She works in the traditional and Hellenistic streams and is known for warm, accessible teaching. Tony Howard is the founder of Astrology University and a senior teacher who has guided students through chart interpretation for many years.

The course is delivered self-paced online over four weeks. Students work through pre-recorded lessons, with four scheduled live Q&A sessions that are also recorded for those who can’t attend. A private discussion area lets students ask questions throughout the course, and all materials remain available for download.

This course counts toward Astrology University’s four-year diploma program for students enrolled on the diploma track. Audit students gain access to the full curriculum without diploma credit. There is no separate accredited certification — completion supports continued study within the school’s broader pathway.

Kelly Surtees is a counselling astrologer and writer based between Sydney and Toronto, with more than 15 years in private practice. She teaches with a traditional focus, grounding ancient philosophy in modern life, and is on the teaching faculty at Astrology University.
