Buteyko Clinic International: Buteyko Breathing for Anxiety & Stress Relief

Course program

Buteyko Breathing for Anxiety & Stress Relief is a self-paced online course by Buteyko Clinic International, led by world-renowned Buteyko expert Patrick McKeown. It teaches practical breathing techniques drawn from the Buteyko Method to activate the body’s natural relaxation response, reduce anxiety, and prevent panic attacks.

This course is open to anyone — no prior experience with breathwork or the Buteyko Method is required. It is designed for people dealing with anxiety, everyday stress, or panic symptoms who want a structured, drug-free way to calm their nervous system, as well as for those who want to improve focus and mental well-being through better breathing.

Students work through 28 recorded video chapters that apply the Buteyko Method to mental well-being. The curriculum focuses on controlled, slow breathing techniques that improve oxygen delivery to the brain, support focus, and reduce the physiological signs of panic.

Alongside the videos, the course lays out a structured daily routine of breathing exercises intended to ease anxiety and stress symptoms over time. A 24-page manual and guided audio recordings accompany the program, so students can practice both on-screen and away from the computer.

The course is taught by Patrick McKeown, who trained clinically under Professor Konstantin Buteyko and has been working with clients on breathing, sleep, and anxiety since 2002. He is the author of ten books, including The Oxygen Advantage, a TEDx speaker, and a Fellow of The Royal Society of Biology.

The course is fully self-paced and delivered online. After enrolling, students get lifetime access to the 28 video chapters, the 24-page manual, and the guided audio recordings, and can move through the material on their own schedule. There are no live sessions, quizzes, or assignments — the structure is a daily practice routine that students follow at home.
