DoYogaWithMe: Yoga Anatomy Bundle

Course program

The Yoga Anatomy Bundle from DoYogaWithMe gathers eleven self-paced courses into one functional anatomy program for yoga. Designed by teacher trainer and instructional designer Rachel Scott and tested for five years inside DoYogaWithMe’s own teacher training, it brings anatomy to life through lectures, demonstrations and activities that tie each body system straight back to practice and teaching.

The bundle is aimed at yoga teachers and committed practitioners who want to anchor their practice and teaching in functional anatomy and teach safely with confidence. No prerequisite is stated, so it also suits teachers in training. Registered teachers can use it for continuing education: anyone who completes the courses can apply for CE credit with Yoga Alliance.

The program starts with the language of anatomy, so you can describe movement clearly and accurately, then covers the structure and purpose of bones, cartilage and joints, joint movements and skeletal variation, and the structure and function of muscles and connective tissue.

From there it moves region by region. The breathing course explains the anatomy behind breath control so you can share those techniques skilfully. Separate courses cover the hip as the key joint for mobility, the core and how activation affects stability and mobility, the shoulder girdle and weight bearing, and the knee and how to keep it safe in standing poses and deep stretches. The nervous system course looks at how you can influence its activity, and the spine course at teaching asana that supports spinal health. A final course on injuries and prenatal considerations helps you create a safe, welcoming class for every student.

The bundle is taught by DoYogaWithMe’s faculty, all registered with Yoga Alliance as continuing education providers. It was designed by Rachel Scott, E-RYT 500, LMT, MFA, MS, a teacher trainer and professional instructional designer with more than twenty years of teaching and hundreds of hours in the cadaver lab. She is joined by DoYogaWithMe founder David Procyshyn, E-RYT 250, RMT, BSc, and Fiji McAlpine, E-RYT 500, M.Ed, a wellness educator for over two decades.

Everything is online and self-paced: the eleven courses are on demand, open immediately after enrolment and never expire, and can also be followed through the Thinkific app. Each course closes with a quiz, and faculty answer questions quickly. Paying in one go includes access to the cohort community; a four-month payment plan is also offered. A seven-day money-back guarantee applies.

Each course you complete earns a DoYogaWithMe certificate of completion, and completing the courses makes you eligible to apply for continuing education credit with Yoga Alliance — thirty hours across the bundle — toward an existing registration. The program supports the requirements of the U.S. Yoga Alliance and gives a working knowledge of functional anatomy for teaching safely.

I want to share how grateful I am to all the team for making this course such a positive experience. I have learned so much and my confidence and teaching ability have rocketed. I now teach more than once a week and my student base is growing. The amount if support I have received from faculty throughout the course has been superb. Special mention to Rachel. Her teaching style is excellent, and her enthusiasm infectious. This is a fine lineage to come from.

I am currently enrolled in DoYogaWithMe’s teacher training. I love how knowledgeable and approachable the instructors are. Not only do the teachers have so much valuable information to offer, they are very open to answering questions from students; it’s clear the instructors leading this training love what they do and want to help spread the awesomeness that yoga has to offer! I am already a certified yoga teacher, but I chose to do this training because I knew how beneficial it would be for my personal growth and improvement as both a student and a teacher.

As a corporate executive, there would be no other way for me to pursue a deeper connection with my yoga practice than online. I anticipated that I would have to proceed at a rather jagged pace and that has proven to be the case. This allows me to fit in the training in accord with my very demanding schedule, even on vacation. DYWM YTT is of the highest caliber of educational programming and all of the presenters are superior instructors. It occurs to me that this is the very definition of yin/yang: the ancient art of yoga being offered using the most modern technology.

After each course, I can't get to the next one fast enough! Each lesson features the different teaching styles of the different instructors and the very unique and dynamic ways they connect with us through videos and e-communications. I am so certain I am in a learning community that wants me to practice yoga in the most intelligent way possible; and that I am in a learning community that is going to make sure I teach yoga in the most intelligent way possible. Do Yoga with Me is a fun, skillful and thoroughly encouraging learning community.

The YTT is a fabulous program. The training materials are well organized and thorough. Any of my questions and technical issues were answered and resolved quickly. The physical practice is accessible and I feel like my practice will deepen with the new challenges. I couldn't be happier with how this is going with DYWM and grateful for the staff's efforts in creating this program. I'm looking forward to the retreat.
