Holden QiGong: Holden QiGong Teacher Certification Program - Tier 1

Course program

The Holden QiGong Teacher Certification Program – Tier 1 is a 200-hour self-paced online training created by master instructor Lee Holden. It is built around the Five Elements and the Three Treasures of Taoist thought, combining personal practice, philosophy, and hands-on teaching methodology so graduates can lead Qi Gong classes with confidence.

The program is for complete newcomers, long-time Qi Gong practitioners, and healthcare professionals such as occupational therapists, psychologists, and trauma specialists who want to integrate Qi Gong into their work. It is also suitable for those seeking personal mastery or preparing to build a Qi Gong teaching practice. No prior Qi Gong credential is required.

The 16-week curriculum delivers more than 100 hours of video training across two foundational courses and a dedicated teacher training module. The first arc explores the Five Elements — Metal, Water, Wood, Fire, and Earth — along with Chinese Medicine theory, standing postures, healing sounds, and the emotion-to-Qi connection. The second arc moves into the Three Treasures, lower Tan Tien activation, Taoist cosmology, Yin and Yang polarity work, Microcosmic and Macrocosmic Orbit meditations, and the cultivation of Jing Qi.

Alongside the core practice, students study the Tao Te Ching, the Wheel of Awareness meditation, and the Five Branches of Chinese Medicine. Teaching-focused modules cover sequencing, cueing, and holding space for students of varying abilities. Personal practice, three one-on-one sessions with senior instructors, a final written exam, and a recorded 15 to 20 minute teaching demonstration round out the requirements.

The program is led by Lee Holden, an internationally known master Qi Gong instructor, licensed acupuncturist, and herbalist whose Qi Gong programs have aired on American Public Television and PBS stations across the United States and Canada. Senior instructors from the Holden QiGong faculty deliver the monthly masterclasses and the three private one-on-one sessions built into the certification path.

The course is delivered fully self-paced online with lifetime access to all materials. Students progress through 16 weeks of video curriculum at their own speed — most complete the requirements in 8 to 10 months, with a 6-month pace possible for intensive learners. Enrolment includes two monthly group masterclasses and a monthly group Q&A call with Lee, three private one-on-one sessions with senior instructors, the Holden QiGong Teacher Training manual, Lee’s Qi Gong for Health and Healing Workbook, and ongoing access to a masterclass library and practitioner-only community.
