iPEC: Performance Coach Certification Program

Course program

The Performance Coach Certification Program by iPEC is the school’s ICF-accredited Coach Training Program paired with a Sports and Performance Coaching niche through COR.E® Dynamics. Built on iPEC’s proprietary Core Energy Coaching™ methodology, the program prepares graduates to coach individuals and teams on performance, motivation, and sustainable habit change.

No prior coaching credential is required. The program suits career changers entering professional coaching, leaders and managers who want to integrate coaching into their work, and existing wellness or performance professionals — fitness coaches, sports trainers, executives — who want to add a recognized ICF coaching credential to their practice and specialize specifically in performance coaching.

The curriculum centers on Core Energy Coaching™, iPEC’s proprietary methodology for helping clients get to the root of what’s blocking them and create sustainable change. You’ll learn to use the Energy Leadership Index (ELI), a research-backed assessment that helps clients see how they show up energetically in different areas of life, especially under stress.

Through the Performance Coaching niche of COR.E® Dynamics, you’ll build deeper skills in supporting athletes, executives, and high-performers — covering motivation, focus, habit change, recovery, and burnout. The program includes 200 downloadable assignments and exercises to use with clients. Alongside the coaching method, you’ll cover the practical side of building a coaching practice: starting your business, finding the right clients, and positioning yourself within a specialty. You’ll attend three live training modules of three days each — spaced three months apart — with self-study, live webinars, and practical skill-building in between.

The program runs as a hybrid: three live, interactive three-day modules — attended either in person or virtually — spaced three months apart, paired with self-paced study and live webinars in between. Total program length is seven to ten months. You also complete six one-on-one coaching sessions with an ICF-credentialed Mentor Coach, who gives real-time feedback on your developing skills.

Graduates earn two ICF-accredited credentials: the Certified Professional Coach (CPC) designation and the Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP). Completing the Sports and Performance Coaching path through COR.E® Dynamics adds a COR.E® Dynamics Specialist certification in the performance niche. The 200 accredited training hours satisfy ICF training requirements for the ACC and PCC credentials, plus 67 SHRM PDCs and 70 HRCI credit hours toward recertification.

I went through the program over a decade ago, and that decision launched me into an entirely new and exciting career as a corporate coach. Today, I work with clients including NBC, Amex, and Tiffany's, thanks to the great foundational skills I learned at iPEC. iPEC's training is world-class!

My iPEC experience was life-changing. Not only have I learned the skills I needed to become a great coach, I grew and changed as a human being as well. I am incredibly grateful for the experience and the people I have met through this amazing journey!

By giving talks at post-divorce 'singles' groups, I quickly realized that coaching tools could make a huge difference for people. Through iPEC’s program, I not only healed [myself] tremendously but also developed my coaching practice to powerfully serve others.
