Jon Kabat-Zinn Teaches Mindfulness and Meditation is a self-paced video program on MasterClass led by the founder of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Across 20 lessons, Jon guides students through the foundational attitudes, postures, and practices of mindfulness meditation, and shows how to weave them into everyday life.

The course is for anyone interested in mindfulness and meditation, including complete beginners with no prior experience and those already familiar with meditation who want to deepen their understanding. There are no prerequisites or assessments.

The curriculum moves from fundamentals to applied practice. Early chapters introduce mindfulness and meditation, the attitudinal foundations of practice, and how to work skilfully with thoughts as they arise. Students explore meditation postures and the science behind why mindfulness affects the mind and body.

A large portion of the course is given over to guided meditations, including Dropping In, Falling Awake, Putting Out the Welcome Mat, Choiceless Awareness, The Mountain, The Body Scan, and Loving-Kindness. Jon also teaches mindful Hatha yoga and explores how mindfulness can meet stress, pain, and suffering. The final chapters address reclaiming wholeness, healing the world, and maintaining a daily practice over the long term.

Jon Kabat-Zinn is the founder of MBSR and founding director of the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He is widely credited with bringing mindfulness into mainstream healthcare, psychology, education, and research, and has authored several bestselling books on meditation and mindful living.

The course is delivered as pre-recorded video lessons hosted on MasterClass. Students watch at their own pace on web, mobile, or TV, with total runtime of about 6 hours and 30 minutes across 20 chapters.
