My Vinyasa Practice: 200-hour Viniyoga Teacher Training

Course program

The 200-hour Viniyoga Teacher Training by My Vinyasa Practice is a Yoga Alliance accredited online program built around the personalized, breath-centered Viniyoga lineage. It prepares aspiring teachers, dedicated practitioners, and wellness professionals to adapt yoga to individual bodies, life stages, and goals rather than teaching one fixed sequence to every student.

This training is open to anyone drawn to a more therapeutic, individualized approach to yoga. No prior credential is required to enroll. It suits aspiring teachers preparing for their first studio classes, established practitioners who want to deepen their personal practice, and wellness professionals such as therapists or bodyworkers who want to integrate yoga into one-on-one client work.

The curriculum covers foundational principles of yoga and the methodology of Viniyoga, with an emphasis on adaptation and personalization. Students study movement of the spine, the anatomy of pranayama, nervous system regulation, and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The program then builds into applied skills: assessing students, frameworks for creating personalized practices, subtle practices and dharana, and Viniyoga sequencing.

This is a breath-centered training, so much of the practice work focuses on coordinating movement with breath, refining cleansing practices, and learning how to design sessions that honor the whole person rather than push everyone through the same shape. By the end, graduates can lead mindful group classes and craft meaningful one-on-one sessions tailored to a student’s body, history, and goals.

The program is led by Michelle Young, C-IAYT, an experienced wellness entrepreneur and certified yoga therapist whose work focuses on cardiac, cancer, eating recovery, and behavioral health. Michelle is supported by Tara Cleven, E-RYT 500 / C-IAYT. Together they bring both teaching authority and a clinical, therapeutic lens to the training.

The format is fully self-paced and remote, delivered through pre-recorded lectures, asana practices with Michelle, written content, and PDF downloads. Required ebooks and manuals are included. Students can register at any time and progress at their own pace, with a stated minimum of six weeks to completion. Live support during business hours plus weekly live calls and one-on-one mentorship are available throughout the training.

This program helped me reconnect with the heart of yoga. The integration of philosophy, functional movement, and breathwork created a learning experience that felt both personal and transformative. I've grown not only as a teacher but also as a practitioner.
