My Vinyasa Practice: 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training

Course program

The 500-Hour Online Yoga Teacher Training by My Vinyasa Practice is a Yoga Alliance-accredited bundle that combines the school’s 200-hour and 300-hour programs into a single pathway to RYT-500 registration. The program emphasizes trauma-informed teaching, somatic awareness, and a clinical lens drawn from MVP’s roots in yoga therapy.

This bundle is open to anyone — no prior credential is required. It suits students starting from the beginning who want a complete pathway to RYT-500, as well as existing 200-hour RYTs ready to deepen their teaching with advanced asana, anatomy, and trauma-informed methodology. The training is also relevant for wellness professionals seeking a more therapeutic approach to leading yoga.

The curriculum spans the full 200-hour foundation and 300-hour advanced training. Foundational study covers the Yoga Sutras and yoga philosophy, ethics and the advanced teacher role, anatomy, physiology, and the somatic nervous system. Sequencing, cueing, and inclusive class design teach students how to lead practice for diverse populations. The advanced material extends into the subtle body, chakras, and energetic awareness, asana integration, and specialized teaching in restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Yin. Students explore adaptive teaching for diverse populations and the business of yoga and professional development. Throughout the bundle, MVP integrates trauma-informed yoga education with somatic tools and nervous system-informed practices, building the capacity to guide healing-centered classes with sensitivity, emotional regulation strategies, and ethical boundaries.

The trainings are authored by Michelle Young, founder of My Vinyasa Practice. Michelle holds E-RYT-500 certification with Yoga Alliance and is a C-IAYT certified yoga therapist specializing in cardiac, cancer, eating recovery, and behavioral health. She serves Seton Hospital as their Cardiac Yoga Therapist and develops and leads teacher trainings internationally.

The format is fully self-paced and remote, with prerecorded lectures, ebooks, and lifetime access to course materials. The bundle requires a minimum of 14 weeks across the two courses. Students receive 1:1 support, mentorship, and live support during business hours through various weekly live calls. A practice teaching component is included, and students join a community of more than 60,000 international learners through MVP’s school platform.

As someone who wanted a more therapeutic approach to yoga, this training was exactly what I needed. The instruction is clear, compassionate, and deeply informed by the Viniyoga tradition. I gained practical tools for working with different bodies and abilities, learned mindful pacing.

This program helped me reconnect with the heart of yoga. The integration of philosophy, functional movement, and breathwork created a learning experience that felt both personal and transformative. I've grown not only as a teacher but also as a practitioner.
