My Vinyasa Practice: Ayurvedic Nutrition Certification

Course program

The Ayurvedic Nutrition Certification by My Vinyasa Practice is a self-paced online program that blends traditional Ayurvedic principles with evidence-based Western nutritional science. Students explore doshic balance, seasonal eating, digestion, and integrative approaches to nutrition, building a foundation in food as medicine for personal practice or client work.

This certification is open to students at any level — no prior credentials are required. It suits yoga teachers wanting to add nutrition to their offering, wellness practitioners supporting clients more holistically, and personal practitioners deepening their own understanding of food and well-being. The pace and one-on-one mentorship make it workable alongside other commitments.

The curriculum is organized around the foundations of Ayurvedic nutrition and how doshic theory translates into everyday food choices. Students study nutrition principles, dietary recommendations, and the foundations of nutrition science, learning to read the body’s constitution and adapt meals accordingly.

The training also covers gut-friendly meals, food combining, assimilating and digesting, the relationship between nutrition and disease, and meal planning. Beyond food itself, students explore mindful eating, self-care practices, and coaching techniques for working with others, plus practical marketing skills for those who plan to build a practice. Course materials include pre-recorded video lectures, asana practices with Michelle, ebooks, and PDF downloads.

The entire program is guided by Michelle Young, a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT, E-RYT 500) specializing in Cardiac, Cancer, Eating Recovery, and Behavioral Health. Michelle is supported by Tara Cleven (E-RYT 500, C-IAYT). My Vinyasa Practice is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School serving a community of over 60,000 international students through its online platform.

The format is fully self-paced and online. Students register anytime and progress at their own speed, with a minimum length of four weeks. The program includes pre-recorded lectures, asana practices, ebooks, and PDF downloads, supplemented by one-on-one mentorship and live support during business hours with weekly live calls. All required texts are included in electronic format.

This program helped me reconnect with the heart of yoga. The integration of philosophy, functional movement, and breathwork created a learning experience that felt both personal and transformative. I've grown not only as a teacher but also as a practitioner.
