My Vinyasa Practice: Business of Yoga Course

Course program

The Business of Yoga Course by My Vinyasa Practice is a self-paced online program covering the business side of teaching yoga. Led by founder Michelle Young, C-IAYT, the course bridges yogic values with practical entrepreneurship — addressing the gap most yoga trainings leave for teachers stepping into running their own studios, online offerings, or wellness businesses.

This course is for yoga teachers, wellness entrepreneurs, and holistic practitioners who want to build a sustainable practice. There are no formal prerequisites, but the material assumes you already have or are developing your own yoga or wellness offering. It’s especially relevant for teachers preparing to open a studio, teach online, or launch yoga-based products.

The curriculum walks through the practical foundations of running a yoga business. You’ll cover business planning, building a business model, and the pricing and positioning decisions that shape how your offering reaches your audience.

The marketing portion is hands-on: developing a media plan, an Advertising 101 framework, designing marketing funnels, and an outreach and engagement approach for growing a community around your work. Together these topics give you a working toolkit for how to plan, launch, and grow a yoga business — whether that’s a brick-and-mortar studio, an online class library, workshops, or yoga-based products.

The course materials include pre-recorded lectures, downloadable ebooks, written content, and the full course syllabus. Live support is available during business hours with weekly live calls, and one-on-one mentorship support is included throughout.

The program is led by Michelle Young, C-IAYT, founder of My Vinyasa Practice and a certified yoga therapist with a background in cardiac, cancer, eating recovery, and behavioral health. Michelle is also an E-RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance and develops teacher trainings internationally. She is supported by Tara Cleven, E-RYT 500 / C-IAYT.

The format is self-paced and fully online. After enrolling, you have lifetime access to pre-recorded lectures, ebooks, asana practices, written content, and PDF downloads. The minimum recommended pace is two weeks, but you progress on your own timeline. Live support is available during business hours, with various weekly live calls, and one-on-one mentorship support is included to guide you through the material.

This Viniyoga training exceeded every expectation I had. I loved how each lesson emphasized personalization and adapting yoga to the individual. I now feel confident offering sequences that truly meet my students where they are.

As someone who wanted a more therapeutic approach to yoga, this training was exactly what I needed. The instruction is clear, compassionate, and deeply informed by the Viniyoga tradition. I gained practical tools for working with different bodies and abilities, learned mindful pacing.

This program helped me reconnect with the heart of yoga. The integration of philosophy, functional movement, and breathwork created a learning experience that felt both personal and transformative. I've grown not only as a teacher but also as a practitioner.
