My Vinyasa Practice: Introduction to Ayurveda

Course program

Introduction to Ayurveda Certification is a self-paced online course from My Vinyasa Practice that introduces the foundational principles of Ayurveda. Rooted in traditional yogic learning, it explores Ayurveda as a holistic system for understanding the body, mind, and the patterns that shape well-being.

This course is open to anyone curious about Ayurveda — no prior credentials are required. It is designed for yoga teachers seeking continuing education hours, wellness professionals adding Ayurvedic tools to their practice, and holistic health seekers looking to deepen their personal understanding of doshas, diet, and lifestyle.

The course covers the foundational principles of Ayurveda and the Tridoshic system, focusing on the doshas, the five elements, and the mind-body connection. Students learn how to assess clients and identify imbalances, then build personalized wellness plans grounded in Ayurvedic philosophy.

The curriculum moves from theory into practical application: practices and rituals, healing modalities, dietary and lifestyle guidance, and seasonal integration. Students explore how to use Ayurvedic remedies to support digestion, reduce stress, and promote balance, and how to weave Ayurvedic insights into yoga teaching, wellness coaching, or personal practice with confidence.

The program is guided by Michelle Young, a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) specializing in cardiac, cancer, eating recovery, and behavioral health, supported by Tara Cleven (E-RYT 500, C-IAYT). My Vinyasa Practice is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School with an international student community.

The format is fully self-paced and remote, with a minimum suggested commitment of two weeks. Students receive lifetime access to pre-recorded video lectures, asana practices, written content, ebooks, and PDF downloads. The school provides 1:1 support, mentorship, and live support during business hours with weekly live calls available.

This program helped me reconnect with the heart of yoga. The integration of philosophy, functional movement, and breathwork created a learning experience that felt both personal and transformative. I've grown not only as a teacher but also as a practitioner.
