My Vinyasa Practice: Mindfulness Coaching

Course program

The Mindfulness Coaching Certification by My Vinyasa Practice is a Yoga Alliance approved, NASM recognized program worth 100 CEUs. It trains students to integrate mindfulness into one-on-one coaching, workshops, and group programs, bridging traditional contemplative practice with modern stress-reduction and resilience-building approaches.

This certification is designed for yoga teachers, wellness professionals, and coaches who want to add a mindfulness coaching specialization to their existing work. It assumes you already practice or teach in an adjacent field and are ready to build a formal mindfulness toolkit, rather than approaching the topic for the first time.

The training equips you to guide clients toward inner peace, support overall wellbeing, and help people live more fully in the present moment. You learn to develop mindfulness-based stress reduction strategies with clients, build emotional resilience, and customize mindfulness practices to meet each individual’s needs.

The curriculum covers core mindfulness coaching techniques, mindful movement, and mindful eating, and includes guidance on the business side of running a mindfulness coaching practice. Students study through pre-recorded video lectures, asana practices led by Michelle Young, written materials, and PDF downloads. All required texts are included in electronic format, and students receive 1:1 support and mentorship throughout the program.

The program is guided by Michelle Young, a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and E-RYT 500 specializing in Cardiac, Cancer, Eating Recovery, and Behavioral Health. Michelle is supported by Tara Cleven, an E-RYT 500 and C-IAYT certified yoga therapist.

The program is fully self-paced and remote, with a minimum completion window of six weeks. Students work through pre-recorded lectures, ebooks, and downloadable materials at their own pace. The school provides 1:1 support, mentorship, and live support during business hours through various weekly live calls. Enrollment includes lifetime access to course materials and ongoing support.

This Viniyoga training exceeded every expectation I had. I loved how each lesson emphasized personalization and adapting yoga to the individual. I now feel confident offering sequences that truly meet my students where they are.

As someone who wanted a more therapeutic approach to yoga, this training was exactly what I needed. The instruction is clear, compassionate, and deeply informed by the Viniyoga tradition. I gained practical tools for working with different bodies and abilities, learned mindful pacing.

This program helped me reconnect with the heart of yoga. The integration of philosophy, functional movement, and breathwork created a learning experience that felt both personal and transformative. I've grown not only as a teacher but also as a practitioner.
