My Vinyasa Practice: Power Sculpt Yoga Training

Course program

Power Sculpt Yoga Training by My Vinyasa Practice is a self-paced continuing education course that fuses functional strength training, HIIT principles, and heated movement with mindful yoga. The program prepares yoga teachers and movement professionals to design and lead Power Sculpt sessions while earning 40 CEUs through Yoga Alliance.

This training is built for existing yoga teachers, movement professionals, and serious practitioners who want to add a strength- and heat-based offering to their teaching toolkit. Because the course awards Yoga Alliance CEUs, it is most meaningful for those who already hold a yoga teaching credential. No prior weight-training certification is required to enroll.

The curriculum is built around blending weighted movement with vinyasa-style sequencing in a heated environment. Topics include leveraging weights inside a yoga class, integrating HIIT with yoga, working with form and function, cueing students for muscle engagement, and sequencing classes that use weights without breaking the flow of practice.

The course also addresses the heat side of the practice in depth: titration of heat, contraindications and precautions when teaching in heated rooms, and how to keep students safe while still pushing physical intensity. Beyond delivery in a class setting, you study how to assess individual clients and groups, lead workshops, and structure both group and 1:1 coaching engagements built around Power Sculpt.

The program is guided by Michelle Young, a C-IAYT certified Yoga Therapist with specializations in cardiac, cancer, eating recovery, and behavioral health, who also serves as Cardiac Yoga Therapist at Seton Hospital. She is supported by Tara Cleven, E-RYT 500 and C-IAYT, a lead teacher at My Vinyasa Practice with over a decade of yoga practice and study through MVP’s 200- and 300-hour teacher trainings.

The format is fully self-paced and 100% online, with a stated minimum pace of about ten weeks. Students access pre-recorded video lectures, asana practices led by Michelle, written content, ebooks, and downloadable PDFs. Live support is offered during business hours through weekly live calls, alongside 1:1 support, practice-teaching sessions, and mentorship. Course materials are included with enrollment.

This program helped me reconnect with the heart of yoga. The integration of philosophy, functional movement, and breathwork created a learning experience that felt both personal and transformative. I've grown not only as a teacher but also as a practitioner.
