My Vinyasa Practice: The Wisdom of Fascia

Course program

The Wisdom of Fascia by My Vinyasa Practice is a self-paced continuing-education course on the body’s continuous connective-tissue system. The training bridges current fascia research with somatic awareness and yoga philosophy, framing fascia as a dynamic, sensory-rich tissue that shapes posture, mobility, pain, recovery, and the mind-body relationship.

This course is open to yoga teachers, yoga therapists, bodyworkers, movement professionals, and curious practitioners who want to understand fascia and apply that knowledge in their own practice or with clients. No prior credential is stated as required to enroll, but the CEU framing makes it especially relevant for already-credentialed yoga teachers and therapists looking to expand their toolkit.

The curriculum covers the layers, function, properties, and behavior of fascia, with attention to superficial, deep, and visceral layers. Students study the innervation of fascia, fascial intelligence and proprioceptive awareness, the influence of fascia on somatic holding, and the relationship between fascial resilience and emotional well-being. The course examines fascia’s role in immune function and disease, and how to leverage fascial intelligence for integrative healing.

Applied work includes hydration strategies, myofascial release, guided movement, pranayama, and meditation. Lectures are reinforced with anatomical visuals and a video of real donor forms recorded at the annual MVP Cadaver Lab in Colorado, giving students a direct visual reference for the textures and continuity of fascia in the human body.

The program is guided by Michelle Young, a certified IAYT yoga therapist (C-IAYT) with a background in biochemistry, anatomy, and physiology, specializing in cardiac, cancer, eating recovery, and behavioral health. Michelle is supported by Tara Cleven, E-RYT 500 and C-IAYT, a lead teacher at My Vinyasa Practice.

The format is fully self-paced and remote. Students register anytime and work through pre-recorded video lectures, asana practices with Michelle, written content, ebooks, and PDF downloads at their own pace. The manual and all digital course materials are included. Live support is available during business hours through MVP’s Peer Support, alongside live office hours and one-on-one support from the team.

This program helped me reconnect with the heart of yoga. The integration of philosophy, functional movement, and breathwork created a learning experience that felt both personal and transformative. I've grown not only as a teacher but also as a practitioner.
