My Vinyasa Practice: Yoga Therapy for Balance

Course program

Yoga Therapy for Balance is a self-paced online mini course by My Vinyasa Practice. It offers an integrative, trauma-informed approach to cultivating physical, emotional, and energetic equilibrium, drawing on both modern science and yogic philosophy. The course supports students in building resilience, easing stress, and restoring inner harmony.

The course is designed for yoga teachers, wellness professionals, and individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of balance. No prior credentials or experience are required. It suits anyone navigating stress or instability who wants accessible tools for grounding, as well as practitioners adding therapeutic methods to their own self-care or teaching.

The curriculum explores balance across body, mind, and energy. Students study the anatomy and biomechanics of postural stability, proprioception, and the movement patterns that support physical equilibrium. Foundations of Yoga Therapy, yoga poses, mindfulness and breathwork, and body awareness anchor the practical work.

The course then turns to the nervous system — how dysregulation impacts balance and how vagal tone stimulation and breath-centered practices cultivate resilience and grounding. Sections on stress management, emotional balance, yoga nidra, and sleep imbalances apply these tools to everyday challenges. Final modules address meditation and personalized plans, alongside subtle energetics — bringing awareness to imbalances within the subtle body and restoring harmony through intentional movement, mindfulness, and somatic inquiry.

The course is led by Michelle Young, C-IAYT Yoga Therapist and founder of My Vinyasa Practice, whose background spans biochemistry, education, functional movement, and therapeutic yoga, with specializations in Cardiac, Cancer, Eating Recovery, and Behavioral Health. Michelle is supported by Tara Cleven, E-RYT 500 and C-IAYT.

The format is fully self-paced and remote. Students can register anytime and work at their own pace, with lifetime access to course materials. Content includes pre-recorded video lectures, asana practices with Michelle, written content, ebooks, and PDF downloads. Ongoing support is provided through live support during business hours, various weekly live calls, one-on-one mentorship, and access to the Student Yoga Therapy Clinic.

This program helped me reconnect with the heart of yoga. The integration of philosophy, functional movement, and breathwork created a learning experience that felt both personal and transformative. I've grown not only as a teacher but also as a practitioner.
