My Vinyasa Practice: Yoga Therapy for Digestive Health

Course program

Yoga Therapy for Digestive Health is an on-demand course from My Vinyasa Practice, an Austin-based Yoga Alliance Approved School. The program blends therapeutic yoga with Ayurvedic principles to support people experiencing digestive discomfort, stress-related gut imbalance, and related concerns. It is part of MVP’s broader yoga therapy series.

This course is open to adults at any level of experience, including wellness professionals and yoga teachers who want to add a digestive-health lens to their practice. No prior credentials are required. The school positions it for anyone seeking comfort and whole-body ease around digestion, including those navigating bloating, constipation, IBS, or stress-related gut imbalance.

The curriculum is organized around four recorded sessions, each pairing a lecture with a therapeutic yoga practice. You’ll study daily rituals designed to generate Agni, the Ayurvedic concept of digestive fire, and learn how those rituals fold into a sustainable routine. You’ll explore the gut-brain connection and how stress and nervous system patterns shape digestion, then map that understanding onto the three pillars of Ayurvedic health.

The practices give you therapeutic tools for common digestive ailments such as bloating, constipation, IBS, and stress-related gut imbalance. Alongside the lectures and movement practices, you receive written content and PDF downloads to support continued study. The school describes the approach as integrative and evidence-informed, drawing on both modern insights into digestion and the holistic framework of yoga therapy and Ayurveda.

The course is guided by Kaytee Hernandez, a C-IAYT yoga therapist and Ayurvedic Practitioner. Asana practices are taught with Michelle Young, MVP’s founder and a C-IAYT yoga therapist with a background in biochemistry, education, functional movement, and therapeutic yoga.

The format is self-paced and entirely pre-recorded. You register at any time, work through the four recorded sessions at your own pace, and access written content and PDF downloads alongside the videos. The school provides lifetime access and ongoing support, with live support available during business hours and weekly live calls. There is no required cohort or live attendance to complete the program.

This program helped me reconnect with the heart of yoga. The integration of philosophy, functional movement, and breathwork created a learning experience that felt both personal and transformative. I've grown not only as a teacher but also as a practitioner.
