My Vinyasa Practice: Yoga Therapy for Every Phase of Your Menstrual Cycle

Course program

Flourish & Flow: Yoga Therapy for Every Phase of Your Menstrual Cycle by My Vinyasa Practice is a self-paced online program built around the four phases of the menstrual cycle. It blends yoga therapy, somatic practices, and nervous system-informed tools into a structured four-week series for cultivating cycle awareness and hormone-conscious practice.

This program is open to women who menstruate and to yoga teachers integrating hormone-conscious practices into their work, with no prior credentials required. It suits anyone seeking relief from menstrual symptoms, deeper cycle awareness, or a more intuitive relationship with their body. The page also notes it is helpful for yoga teachers supporting students through cycle-aligned practice.

The curriculum unfolds across four weeks, with each week dedicated to one phase of the menstrual cycle — menstrual, follicular, ovulatory, and luteal — taught through the lens of yoga therapy. Within each phase, students explore targeted asana sequences, mindful practices, and adjustments to support physical, emotional, and energetic well-being.

The program covers how to tune into the body’s signals, how to harmonize a yoga practice with natural rhythms, and how to adjust sleep, nutrition, and energy management across each phase of the cycle. Students learn sequences and practices designed by a C-IAYT yoga therapist, drawing on evidence-based yoga therapy, somatic healing methods, and nervous system-informed tools. The series is delivered as four recorded live lectures with accompanying education, practice, and reflection material for each phase.

The course is guided by Kaytee Hernandez, a C-IAYT certified yoga therapist and RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance, and includes asana practices with Michelle Young, founder of My Vinyasa Practice and a C-IAYT yoga therapist specializing in anatomy, physiology, movement science, and yoga philosophy.

The format is self-paced and pre-recorded. Students can register at any time and work through the four-week series at their own pace, with lifetime access to all recordings of the lectures and supporting materials. Enrolment includes live support during business hours through MVP’s various weekly live calls available to the school community.

This Viniyoga training exceeded every expectation I had. I loved how each lesson emphasized personalization and adapting yoga to the individual. I now feel confident offering sequences that truly meet my students where they are.

As someone who wanted a more therapeutic approach to yoga, this training was exactly what I needed. The instruction is clear, compassionate, and deeply informed by the Viniyoga tradition. I gained practical tools for working with different bodies and abilities, learned mindful pacing.

This program helped me reconnect with the heart of yoga. The integration of philosophy, functional movement, and breathwork created a learning experience that felt both personal and transformative. I've grown not only as a teacher but also as a practitioner.
