My Vinyasa Practice: Yoga Therapy for Postpartum & Pelvic Floor Health

Course program

Yoga Therapy for Postpartum & Pelvic Floor Health by My Vinyasa Practice is an on-demand yoga therapy course exploring the physical, emotional, and energetic shifts of the postpartum journey. The training blends evidence-informed core and pelvic floor rehabilitation with the holistic perspective of yoga therapy, taught through the lens of MVP’s trauma-informed and clinical approach.

This course is open to anyone interested in postpartum recovery — no prior credentials are required. It is designed for yoga teachers, wellness professionals, birth workers, and individuals seeking to support healing, recovery, and reconnection after childbirth. New mothers exploring their own postpartum experience are equally welcomed alongside practitioners building a clinical skill set.

The curriculum centers on four interconnected areas. Pelvic Floor Awareness and Stability covers the anatomy and function of the pelvic floor, with practical tools for restoring strength and connection after birth. Postpartum Care and Lifestyle examines the changes a body moves through in the weeks and months after delivery, and the lifestyle adjustments that support recovery.

Core Connection focuses on rebuilding the deep abdominal and stabilizing musculature involved in postpartum rehabilitation. Nervous System Regulation and Emotional Processing explores trauma-informed approaches, subtle body awareness, and tools for working with the emotional and energetic dimensions of the postpartum journey. Throughout, the training integrates modern science with yogic wisdom, drawing on MVP’s signature blend of anatomy, philosophy, and clinical yoga therapy.

The course is guided by Michelle Young, founder of My Vinyasa Practice. Michelle is an E-RYT 500 with Yoga Alliance and a C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, with deep expertise in anatomy, physiology, movement science, and yoga philosophy. Her teaching emphasizes a trauma-informed, inclusive approach that honors both the physical and energetic body.

The format is fully self-paced and online. Students access pre-recorded video lectures, asana practices, and written materials with lifetime access to all course content. One-on-one support is available, alongside live support during business hours and various weekly live calls hosted by My Vinyasa Practice. Required texts are included in electronic format, and students work through the material on their own schedule.

This program helped me reconnect with the heart of yoga. The integration of philosophy, functional movement, and breathwork created a learning experience that felt both personal and transformative. I've grown not only as a teacher but also as a practitioner.
