Nordic Flow: Breathwork Essentials Course

Course program

Breathwork Essentials Course by Nordic University is a short self-paced introduction to the science of breathing. The program walks through how breath influences energy, sleep, focus, and resilience, and treats inefficient breathing as a foundational habit that can be retrained over time. It is structured as the entry point to the wider Nordic University coaching pathway.

The course is open to anyone curious about breath as a daily practice — no prior experience or credential is required. It is well suited to general wellness students looking for accessible breathing tools, and to fitness and wellness professionals certified through NASM, AFAA, or ISSA who can apply the program toward their continuing education.

The curriculum is organized around the four pillars of breath science: chemistry, biomechanics, psychology, and physiology. Students explore why an estimated 90% of adults breathe inefficiently and how that shows up in everyday energy, sleep, focus, and stress patterns. Each pillar is paired with practical breathing exercises that can be applied immediately rather than reserved for a sitting practice.

The content is delivered across six pages inside the Nordic University platform — an Overview, four weekly modules (WK1 through WK4), and a final exam. Across roughly three hours of total course time, students build a working understanding of how breath supports recovery, regulates the nervous response to stress, and underpins healthier long-term breathing habits. The exam at the end closes the loop and unlocks the pathway toward Level 1 Nordic University Certification.

The format is fully self-paced and delivered online through Nordic University. Students move through six course pages on their own schedule — an Overview, four weekly modules, and a final exam — at any time after enrolment. Total course time is approximately three hours. There are no live sessions or required cohort dates.
