The curriculum covers twelve core areas of study. Students explore yoga philosophy and history, including the Yamas and Niyamas, the Yoga Sutras, and ancient texts. Yoga anatomy covers body systems, skeletal and muscular structure, and anatomical terms. Pranayama study includes the purpose, benefits, and cueing of various breath practices.
The asana module includes over 100 postures across nine categories, with modifications, benefits, and contraindications for each. Students study mantra and meditation through Om, the Gayatri Mantra, and guided meditations, and explore the chakras and esoteric body, including postures, crystals, and meditations for each energy center.
Teaching methodology covers self-care, home practice, cueing, ethics, boundaries, room orientation, and finding an authentic teaching voice. Additional modules address understanding the body and bandhas, sequencing principles and class themes, safety and hands-on adjustments, basic Sanskrit, and the business of yoga, including marketing, teaching online, and turning a yoga practice into a career.
