Online Yoga School: Advanced Yin Yoga Teacher Training

Course program

The Advanced Yin Yoga Teacher Training by Online Yoga School is a 25-hour Yoga Alliance continuing education program rooted in Yin Yoga’s energetic and meridian-based tradition. It explores how Yin postures connect to the body’s energy pathways, giving teachers the framework to lead more meaningful Yin classes.

This training is built for yoga teachers who have already completed a foundational certification and want to deepen their Yin Yoga knowledge. While Yoga Alliance registration is not a requirement to enroll, the program is positioned as a continuing education course, so prior Yin or teacher training experience is assumed. It suits teachers expanding their Yin offerings.

The curriculum spans the energetic and structural foundations of Yin Yoga. Students study a brief history of Yin Yoga, the energetic body, and an introduction to the meridian system rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The core of the training is the five elements and the 12 meridians, covering both lower-body and upper-body channels.

Teachers learn to trace each of the 12 meridians, study the specific Yin asanas associated with each meridian, and explore the extra meridians and how energy moves through the subtle body. The program also includes four full Yin Yoga practices plus a bonus Yin meditation, alongside five class plans teachers can use directly, modify for their own classes, or treat as personal practices. Downloadable teaching resources cover Yin asanas, the five elements, and meridian line maps.

The training is led by LaToya Cooper, a registered yoga instructor and certified meditation and mindfulness teacher with E-RYT-200, RYT-500, and YACEP credentials. She completed her 200-hour teacher training at Yoga and Ayurveda Center in 2020 and founded Asanas & Wellness to share holistic wellness practices.

The course is fully self-paced and online. Students enroll once and progress through the material on their own schedule, with lifetime access to all lessons and resources. There are no live sessions or fixed cohort dates. Graduates also receive a free lifetime listing in Online Yoga School’s yoga directory and access to the school’s online community.
