Online Yoga School: Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training

Course program

The Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Training by Online Yoga School is a self-paced introduction to mindfulness, designed to familiarize students with mindfulness, its benefits, and mindfulness techniques. By the end of the program, students are equipped to explore mindfulness practices and lead these practices for others.

This training is open to students of all experience levels — no prior yoga or teaching credential is required to enroll. It suits beginners curious about mindfulness, existing yoga teachers wanting a continuing-education path in mindfulness meditation, and practitioners who want to begin sharing simple mindfulness practices with others.

The curriculum is organized around five core areas: an introduction to mindfulness, the benefits of mindfulness, everyday mindfulness, mindfulness techniques, and mindfulness practices. Students move from foundational concepts — what mindfulness is and what it offers — into the practical application of mindfulness in daily life and a working set of mindfulness techniques.

The practical portion of the training focuses on mindfulness practices themselves, with the goal that graduates are able to lead these practices upon completion. The course pairs the self-paced material with optional live sessions, including office hours with the lead trainer, where students can ask questions and refine their understanding before bringing the practices to their own students.

The lead trainer is Melissa Zegley, a Yoga Alliance E-RYT-500 and YACEP-registered yoga teacher, World Yoga Federation 500-hour Yoga Teacher, and Grand Master of Meditation through Meditation Alliance International (where she also serves as an International Ambassador). She is an Usui Reiki Master and a certified Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner, and has completed over 1,100 hours of Ayurvedic training through the Yoga Veda Institute.

The format is fully self-paced and delivered online, with free lifetime access to all course materials. Students also receive free membership to the school’s Meditation and Mindfulness Facebook community and the option to attend live sessions, including office hours with Melissa. There is no fixed start date, cohort schedule, or required live attendance — students progress at their own pace.
