The curriculum spans twelve modules. Prenatal Yoga Foundations covers common conditions during pregnancy and basic precautions. Prenatal Anatomy and Safety addresses early development, the mother-to-be, postnatal anatomy, and scope of practice. Prenatal Yoga Philosophy explores joyful movement, dharma and rites of passage, and the Yoga Sutras for pregnancy.
The practice modules cover prenatal asanas (warm-ups including sun salutations, seated and standing postures, relaxation and restorative postures, prop work), prenatal pranayama (energizing and cooling techniques safe during pregnancy), prenatal meditation (centering, self-love, and guided breath meditations), and prenatal bandha, mantra and mudra (mula bandha, mudras for pregnancy). Additional modules include the business of teaching prenatal yoga, creating safe and inclusive spaces, prenatal Ayurveda (dosha basics, ayurvedic nutrition and oils during pregnancy), postnatal yoga (diastasis recti, pelvic floor, sequencing), and Mommy and Me yoga with stroller and mat sequences.
