The training is built around six sessions. Session 1, The Sailboat Metaphor, introduces a framework for human functioning and its relationship with resilience. Session 2, Mastering Attention, covers attention control alongside theoretical concepts such as negativity bias and Broaden and Build Theory. Session 3, The Power of Thoughts, draws on appraisal theory, benefit finding, and explanatory styles to help clients work with their thinking. Session 4, Motivation to Push Forward, strengthens the connection between values and action as a sustaining motivational force. Session 5, Effective Coping, examines coping methods, controllability, and how to assess unhelpful coping styles. Session 6, The Resilience Plan, guides clients through building their own individualized resilience plan from the tools introduced across the program.
Alongside the session content, the package includes a six-session coaching manual, a participant PDF workbook, six PowerPoint presentations with transcripts, an intake form, a Sailboat Metaphor quickstart guide, and a separate train-the-trainer course that teaches you how to deliver the material.
