Reconnect Breath: 10-Day Breathwork for Addiction

Course program

10-Day Breathwork for Addiction by ReConnect Breath is a self-paced online program that uses breath and nervous system regulation to help students take the edge off cravings, urges, and compulsive patterns. Built around the idea that urges start in the body before they reach the mind, the course teaches physiology-based tools you can use in real time.

This program is for people working through addictive patterns (alcohol, food, social media, pornography, gambling, and other compulsive behaviours), as well as coaches, therapists, counsellors, and first responders who want a body-based framework to support their clients. No prior breathwork experience is required.

The curriculum spans ten days of daily video lectures covering anatomy, neuroscience, breath physiology, and the history and context of breathwork as a recovery tool. You’ll study how shallow chest breathing, mouth breathing, and stress-pattern breathing feed cravings through the nervous system, and how coherent breathing and functional breath mechanics can interrupt that loop.

Alongside theory, each day includes guided audio and video breath exercises built specifically for this program. These move through calming practices, coherence-building protocols, and breath tests that let you see how your body is responding. Worksheets, templates, and a custom tracking app help you log urges, name the emotions and sensations underneath them, and watch the pattern shift over time.

The program is led by Kevin Connelly, founder of ReConnect Breath. Kevin is an author, researcher, and wilderness first responder who has guided more than 6,000 people through breathwork sessions and trained over 100 instructors. He has studied with breath experts and spiritual teachers including James Nestor and the 8th Chokyong Palga Rinpoche. His work focuses on nervous system physiology rather than clinical diagnosis.

The course is fully self-paced. All content is pre-recorded, so you can move through the ten days on your own schedule and revisit practices as needed. Students also get access to a private WhatsApp community for questions and peer support. The 2025 ReConnect research study with 65 participants documented measurable shifts in heart rate coherence and brain-wave patterns after short breath interventions, and that same protocol framework sits at the core of this program.
