The course is built around traditional First Degree Reiki self practice. You learn simple hand placements you can use to give yourself a full Reiki session or brief support whenever you need it, then practice both together in class and on your own between sessions, with individual mentoring along the way. You also get guidance on practicing on friends, family, and animals.
Beyond the hands-on practice, the training covers the history and origins of Reiki, which helps you understand why so much misinformation surrounds it, and the Reiki precepts, which ground the practice as a daily spiritual discipline that supports resilience and wellbeing. A dedicated focus on combining Reiki with conventional medicine explains how the practice supports health care without interfering with it, including recovery from surgery, procedures, or accidents. The training also includes Reiki initiations, the traditional empowerments passed from Reiki master to student through the lineage.
