The Mindful Kids Program by School of Positive Transformation is an accredited online certification that prepares adults to teach mindfulness to children ages 4 to 18. The program covers the theory, science, and practical activities behind mindfulness for kids, and graduates qualify as Certified Kids’ Mindfulness Teachers ready to lead sessions in schools, homes, community groups, and therapeutic settings.

This program is for parents, teachers, school counselors, therapists, child practitioners, coaches, and wellbeing facilitators who want to bring mindfulness to children in their lives or careers. No prior mindfulness or teaching experience is required — the course is built from the ground up and assumes no background in the field. It is designed for adults working with kids and teens ages 4 to 18.

The curriculum spans eight modules divided into 32 sections, with four new topics and activities per module. You begin with the foundations of mindfulness for kids and progressively build a complete toolbox of breathing, body awareness, emotional regulation, and group facilitation practices, along with age-appropriate modifications for different developmental stages from ages 4 to 18.

Each module combines theory, neuroscience, and research with practical teaching skills. Sally Arnold contributes real-world experience from delivering mindfulness to thousands of kids, and Dr. Chris Willard shares knowledge from years of research and teaching at Harvard Medical School. Alongside the classroom-ready activities, students develop and deepen their own personal mindfulness practice while learning how to facilitate group sessions with confidence and clarity.

The program is co-led by Dr. Chris Willard, a clinical psychologist and faculty member of Harvard Medical School, author of 20 books on mindfulness, meditation, and mental health, and a twice TEDx presenter. He teaches alongside Sally Arnold, an international mindfulness educator with more than 20 years of experience teaching mindfulness to thousands of kids and adults and a published author on mindfulness for kids activities.

The training is delivered fully online and self-paced through 64 video lessons across eight modules, with downloadable audio meditations, handouts, worksheets, and transcripts. Students complete the course at their own pace — typically in around six weeks — with lifetime access to all materials, English subtitles on every video, optional weekly live Q&A sessions, and access to a private online community for ongoing support from fellow students and trainers.

Dr. Chris Willard is a faculty member at Harvard Medical School and author of 20 books on mindfulness, meditation, and mental health. He has keynoted in over 30 countries and presented at TEDx twice. He co-leads the Mindful Kids Program at the School of Positive Transformation.
