Sounds True: iRest Yoga Nidra Immersion

Course program

The iRest Yoga Nidra Immersion is an eight-part online course from Sounds True, led by Dr. Richard Miller, the clinical psychologist and yoga teacher who developed iRest as an adaptation of the classical practice of Yoga Nidra. The program introduces a meditative method designed to support healing and a sense of inner stillness.

The immersion is described as accessible to longtime yogis and meditators as well as people new to the practice. No prior credentials are required. It speaks particularly to anyone interested in working with stress, trauma, sleep difficulties, chronic pain, addiction recovery, or a deeper spiritual life through a guided meditative practice.

Across eight parts, the immersion introduces the principles and practice of iRest, the form of Yoga Nidra developed by Dr. Richard Miller. The teachings center on reconnecting with what Miller describes as the part of you that is always safe, whole, and perfect, and on using that ground to work with difficult experience. Topics explored across the course include healing past trauma, improving sleep, working with chronic pain, supporting recovery from addiction, and opening into spiritual awakening. Students also explore practices oriented toward personal empowerment, creativity, and resilience. The curriculum is delivered through video sessions paired with journaling prompts, support materials, and guided meditations and practices that can be returned to repeatedly.

The course is led by Dr. Richard Miller, a clinical psychologist with a PhD and a master of yoga and meditation. He is widely recognized as a leading authority on Yoga Nidra and is the developer of iRest. He cofounded the International Association of Yoga Therapy, the Institute for Spirituality and Psychology, and the Integrative Restoration Institute, and continues research on iRest with diverse populations.

The format is self-paced. Students receive lifetime access to the complete online video curriculum along with journaling prompts, support materials, guided meditations, and practices. There are no required live sessions or scheduled meetings — the eight parts are pre-recorded and can be moved through on the student’s own timeline. Two bonus gifts are included with enrollment.
