Sounds True: Qi Gong

Course program

Qi Gong by Sounds True is a self-paced online course taught by Lee Holden, a licensed acupuncturist and internationally celebrated Qi Gong master. Drawing on centuries of Chinese energy practice, the program introduces foundational qi gong movements and meditations designed to cultivate calm, restore vitality, and support physical and emotional well-being in daily life.

This course welcomes students at every level — no prior experience with qi gong or movement practice is required. It is suited to anyone seeking more calmness and grounding, steadier energy, stronger immune health, and habits that nourish rather than drain. The gentle pace makes it accessible regardless of age, body type, or fitness level.

The course teaches foundational qi gong exercises organized around different intentions and times of day. You’ll learn a morning qi gong sequence to awaken energy and motivation, an evening practice for discharging stress and preparing for restful sleep, and self-healing routines that work with the body’s natural energy pathways. Additional segments cover emotional balance through movement and breath, and a spiritual qi gong practice for deeper inner cultivation.

Alongside the practice sequences, Lee Holden shares reflection exercises and two recorded live Q&A sessions that expand on how qi gong relates to traditional Chinese medicine, longevity, and the cultivation of life-force energy. The teachings emphasize gentle, sustainable habits rather than intensive training, making the practices easy to integrate into a regular daily rhythm.

The course is led by Lee Holden, a licensed Chinese medical doctor and acupuncturist, author of 7 Minutes of Magic, and cofounder of the Santa Cruz Integrative Medicine and Chi Center. His Qi Gong programs have aired on American Public Television and PBS stations across the United States and Canada, and he is recognized internationally as a master Qi Gong teacher.

The format is fully self-paced. The course delivers more than twelve hours of audio and video instruction that students can move through at their own pace, returning to individual practices as often as needed. There are no scheduled live sessions, no cohort, and no required assignments — students follow the practices on their own time, with reflection prompts to support integration.
