The curriculum covers core Buddhist wisdom alongside practical teaching skills. Students study the Five Precepts and the practice of living with virtue, the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path with a focus on Right Action, the Five Hindrances, the Three Universal Truths, karma, and the history of Buddhism and its major traditions. A dedicated segment on insight meditation introduces practices that sharpen intuition and understanding.
Meditation practices include mindfulness of the breath, body sensations, sounds, and thoughts and emotions, two compassion meditation techniques, and walking meditation. Alongside the practices, the program also explores the neuroscience of meditation, explaining how consistent practice affects the brain and supports equanimity and happiness.
Teaching craft is woven throughout. Students learn pacing, timing, trauma-informed guidance, how to respond to difficult questions, and how to create a welcoming environment that encourages community. Weekly small-group pods give each student repeated opportunities to practice guiding meditations and receive feedback.
