The Whole Health Project: 60-Hour Online Yin Yoga Teacher Training

Course program

The 60-Hour Online Trauma Aware Yin Yoga Teacher Training by The Whole Health Project is a self-study program combining a 50-hour Yin Yoga component with a 10-hour Trauma Aware Facilitation Training. Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine and the meridian system, it prepares teachers to hold safe, regulated spaces for students of all backgrounds.

This training is open to anyone wanting to deepen their personal Yin Yoga practice or add Yin and trauma-aware skills to an existing teaching offering. It is designed for yoga teachers, somatic practitioners, counselors, and coaches. To teach Yin Yoga professionally and access insurance, the school notes that students should first complete a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training; YACEP credits are issued only to those already accredited by Yoga Alliance.

The 50-hour Yin Yoga component is organized into seven topical sections. Yin Practice covers the history and lineage of Yin Yoga and the four stages of a Yin pose. Inner Landscapes explores the 12 meridians, 5 Element theory, and the meridian pathways. Anatomy and Fascial Trains examines the physical and subtle energy bodies. Additional sections cover Gentle Breathwork, meditation and mindfulness, the principles of teaching Yin Yoga (safe space, language, class structure), and Embodying Yin in daily life.

The 10-hour Trauma Aware Facilitation Training covers definitions and the spectrum of trauma, the nervous system and mind-body connection, the scope and limits of facilitation, recognizing triggers and emotional release, creating safe and inclusive spaces, and trauma-aware emotional first aid. A bonus business module is included.

The training is led by Rachel and Lucy of The Whole Health Project. The anatomy and fascial trains lectures are delivered by Rachel Ellery, a Yin Yoga, breathwork, and Ayurveda specialist trained in classical Indian and Chinese Taoist yoga lineages. Lucy is described as a former professional dancer with over a decade of teaching yoga globally and eight-plus years specializing in Yin Yoga, mindfulness, meditation, and meridian-based practice.

The format is hybrid online self-study. Pre-recorded video lessons, lectures, classes, group discussions, and downloadable PDFs are delivered through The Whole Health Project’s Kajabi platform, supported by monthly live online group Q&As with Rachel and Lucy for personalized feedback. Students who want to receive certification have a maximum of six months to complete all content and a minimum of three weeks. Three-month and six-month payment plans are available.

This has been a really transformational course for me. I have learnt so much about myself in a short space of time and can't wait to continue the journey, on a personal, as well as from a career perspective.

This course is phenomenal! Rachel and Lucy did such a great job teaching breath-work and Trauma Aware courses. I'm an RN and look forward to helping my patients heal holistically with breathwork. The Trauma Aware course helped me realize my triggers. I highly recommend this course to you and to help others. Thank you, ladies!

Lucy and Rachel are phenomenal teachers. I was blown away by the amount of information and skills taught in this course. The way they laid out the information was very manageable. As someone who has taken several courses in the past, the organization and structure of the course were top-notch. I feel well-prepared to be a Breath Coach and HIGHLY recommend Lucy and Rachel's course to anyone interested!

Doing this breath coach course was a phenomenal experience. Having the flexibility of a self-paced course was crucial for my schedule. Rachel & Lucy created the greatest program, making it feel like you were learning from them live directly, even though it was mainly pre-recorded videos. The flow of the course made everything simple and easy to learn, starting with introducing a breath, explaining it, demonstrating it, practicing it, and then explaining how to teach it.
