Vinyasa Yogashala: 85 Hour Yin Yang Yoga Teacher Training

Course program

The 85 Hour Yin Yang Yoga Teacher Training by Vinyasa Yogashala is a YACEP-registered continuing education program for yoga teachers. It blends the slow, floor-based holds of Yin yoga with the more active Yang practices, grounding the work in meridian theory, connective-tissue anatomy, Yog Nidra, and pranayama.

This training is designed for yoga teachers and serious practitioners who already have a foundation in yoga and want to deepen their understanding of Yin yoga and add it to what they teach. Because it is registered as a YACEP continuing education program, the credit is most useful to existing Yoga Alliance-registered teachers who are accumulating ongoing CE hours.

The curriculum is organised into six parts. Part one walks through Yin yoga poses to practice, including the Butterfly, Straddle, Shoelace, Melting Heart, and Camel poses. Part two builds those shapes into full Yin yoga sequences such as the Yin Beginners Sequences, Gentle Spine Sequence, Wall Sequences, Upper Body, Lower Body, Hip, Backbend, Liver and Gall Bladder, Lateral Flexion, and Pregnancy sequences.

Part three covers the meridians and energetic anatomy of Yin yoga, including the acupuncture meridians, the Five Elements, the organ clock, and the Large Intestine meridian. Part four addresses the physical anatomy of Yin practice — connective tissue, compression versus tension, the effect of stretching, the pelvic girdle, and fascia. Part five teaches Yog Nidra, including theory and practice of the six, seven, and eight stage methods. Part six introduces pranayama techniques such as numbered breath, diaphragmatic breath, pause breath, and Prana, Bahiya, and Dirga pranayamas.

The program is delivered fully self-paced through Vinyasa Yogashala’s online learning platform, with the curriculum split into 47 video lessons across the six modules. Students work through the poses, sequences, theory, anatomy, Yog Nidra, and pranayama material on their own schedule. There are no live cohort sessions advertised as part of the program.
