Yoga Bliss: Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training Course

Course program

Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training Course is a 25-hour online program from Yoga Bliss Lembongan, a Yoga Alliance Registered School based in Nusa Lembongan, Bali. The training focuses on the half primary series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and is taught by senior teacher Gwendoline Ferreira (E-RYT 500, YACEP), who has been leading Ashtanga teacher trainings in Bali since 2016.

This course is open to two kinds of student. The first is an existing 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher who wants to add Ashtanga to their teaching and earn 25 Yoga Alliance continuing-education credits toward the 30 hours required every three years. The second is an Ashtanga practitioner — beginner or experienced — who wants to establish or re-establish a regular Ashtanga asana practice.

The curriculum walks through the half primary series asana by asana. Each pose is broken down across several dimensions: alignment, anatomy, vinyasa count, Sanskrit name, breath, and bandhas. By the end of the course you will have a single, consolidated reference for the cues and structure of each asana in the half primary series, rather than piecing it together from multiple books.

Alongside the asana work, the training covers the philosophy and theoretical aspects of the Ashtanga Vinyasa system, giving you the conceptual foundation behind the practice. All classes are pre-recorded video lectures, and you also receive access to multiple led classes you can practice along with at home. The program is structured to support both daily personal practice and the cueing and sequencing skills you need to lead an Ashtanga class once you have an existing 200-hour teaching credential.

The course is led by Gwendoline Ferreira (also known as Gwendoline Borja), the senior teacher and creator of the program. Gwendoline holds E-RYT 500 and YACEP credentials with Yoga Alliance and has been teaching Ashtanga Yoga teacher trainings in person in Bali since 2016. She has been practising yoga for more than a decade.

The format is fully self-paced and 100% online. All classes are pre-recorded video lectures and led practice classes, accessible at your own rhythm. You retain lifetime access to the course materials once enrolled. The senior teacher remains available to answer questions throughout the program, so students working asynchronously can still get direct support. Instructional videos are watched within the course platform and are not available for download.
