Yoga Bliss: Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training

Course program

The Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training by Yoga Bliss is a Yoga Alliance accredited continuing education program led by Gwendoline Ferreira. It prepares yoga teachers to safely guide pregnant and postpartum students through every stage, blending anatomical understanding with practical sequencing for each trimester and the months following birth.

This course is open to anyone interested in prenatal and postnatal yoga, with no formal prerequisites to enrol. It is designed for yoga teachers who welcome pregnant or new mothers into their classes, facilitators of dedicated prenatal and postnatal sessions, and women who want to understand how their own bodies change through pregnancy and the postpartum period.

The curriculum moves through the prenatal and postnatal journey in detail. You will study the benefits of prenatal and postnatal yoga, the anatomical and physiological changes that occur in each trimester, and how to sequence safely from the first trimester through to postpartum recovery. Pelvic floor toning and functional movement receive dedicated attention, as does core work for pregnant and postpartum bodies.

Specialised sequences are covered for diastasis recti, miscarriage, and other sensitive situations. You will explore an overview of labour and how yoga can support it, along with the realities of postnatal depression and how to hold space for students navigating it. The course also includes guided meditation practice and scripts, pranayama suited to each stage, and practical teaching techniques for leading prenatal and postnatal classes online and in person.

The course is created and taught by Gwendoline Ferreira, also known as Gwendoline Borja, a senior teacher at Yoga Bliss Lembongan. She holds E-RYT 500, RPYT (Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher), and YACEP credentials with Yoga Alliance. Gwendoline has been training yoga teachers since 2016 and is herself a mother, drawing on direct experience teaching prenatal and postnatal students online and in person.

The format is 100% online and entirely self-paced. All lessons are pre-recorded, and you progress through the material at your own rhythm with no scheduled live sessions. A final assignment is submitted at the end of the course and is required for those claiming Yoga Alliance continuing education credit. The course content is accessed on demand through the school’s online platform.
