Yoga Bliss: Restorative Yoga Teacher Training

Course program

The 20-Hour Restorative Yoga Teacher Training Course by Yoga Bliss Lembongan is a Yoga Alliance-accredited online program in restorative yoga taught by Gwendoline Ferreira, E-RYT 500 and YACEP. It offers a focused look at restorative postures, supported variations, and the use of props to guide students into deep relaxation, drawing on Gwendoline’s experience teaching yoga from her studio in Bali.

This course is open to people of all ages and at all levels of yoga experience. It is built for two audiences: registered yoga teachers who want to add restorative practice to their offerings and earn continuing education credit, and personal practitioners seeking a structured introduction to restorative yoga for relaxation. No prior credential is required to enroll; a 200-hour certification is required only to teach the sequences.

The curriculum covers the foundations of restorative yoga in a self-paced, video-supported format. Students explore restorative postures and their variations, learning how to use props like blankets, bolsters, straps, and chairs to support the body through long, comfortable holds. The course teaches five savasana variations, giving teachers and practitioners a vocabulary for closing relaxation that can be adapted to different bodies and contexts.

Pranayama and meditation guidance are woven throughout, helping students understand how breath and stillness deepen the restorative effect of each pose. The training also addresses how to sequence and cue a restorative class, with practical attention to pacing, transitions, and verbal guidance. Theory lessons complement the practice sections, giving context for why restorative work supports the nervous system and recovery. Materials are available as video lessons, downloadable PDFs, and audio recordings, so students can study, listen, and practice in whichever format suits them best.

The course is led by Gwendoline Ferreira, an E-RYT 500 and YACEP-registered senior yoga teacher at Yoga Bliss Lembongan. Gwendoline teaches from her studio in Bali and creates online programs that translate complex yoga concepts into accessible learning for students worldwide. She is responsive to questions through the school’s online community and offers ongoing support to course participants.

The course is 100% online and fully self-paced, with lifetime access to all materials. Students learn through a mix of video-supported practice sections and theory lessons, plus downloadable PDFs and audio recordings. There are no live sessions or fixed schedule — you can start anytime and progress at your own pace. A final assignment is required for participants seeking continuing education credit, and is optional for those studying for personal enrichment.
