YogaRenew: 85-Hour Online Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training

Course program

The 85-Hour Online Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training by YogaRenew is a Yoga Alliance Registered Prenatal Yoga School program that prepares yoga teachers to guide pregnant and postpartum students safely through every trimester. The training combines anatomical study, prenatal-appropriate asana, props, pranayama, and meditation with practical class sequencing, equipping teachers to either build a dedicated prenatal practice or modify existing classes for expecting students.

This training is built for yoga teachers who want to formulate safe, healthy, and effective prenatal and postnatal classes, or modify their current classes to be accessible for expecting students. It also welcomes aspiring teachers planning to specialize in prenatal yoga and seasoned teachers expanding their teaching scope. While not formally restricted, the curriculum assumes a foundation in general yoga teaching.

The curriculum is organized around four learning areas. The Pregnant Body section covers anatomical terminology of pregnancy, how yoga can be a safe form of movement throughout each trimester, and how to alleviate tension and pain commonly associated with pregnancy. Prenatal Asanas and Props focuses on identifying safe poses for the pregnant body, understanding their benefits, and incorporating yoga props such as bolsters, blocks, and blankets to support each stage of pregnancy.

The Teaching and Practice Classes section trains you in cueing prenatal classes, crafting sessions that feel complete to pregnant students, and observing how YogaRenew’s own prenatal classes are led. Finally, Pranayama and Meditation explores the role of breath and meditation in mental discipline through pregnancy, the benefits of breathing for postpartum recovery, and how meditative techniques have shaped childbirth preparation. Course materials include a 100-page Prenatal Yoga Manual, over 15 full-length class demos, and a printable workbook.

The training is led by Mélie Purdon and Deidra Demens. Mélie is an E-RYT 500, RPYT, and YACEP teacher and a mother of three who specializes in building prenatal community. Deidra is an E-RYT 500 and Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher with a focus on alignment. Together they bring more than 20 combined years of teaching experience to the program.

The program is fully self-paced and delivered online with lifetime access to all materials, including video lessons, class demos, and a downloadable PDF workbook. Optional twice-weekly live Zoom calls with the lead teachers provide group practice and Q&A, and enrolled students gain access to a private Facebook community. Because live sessions are optional, the format qualifies as self-paced rather than hybrid. A 30-day money-back guarantee is included.
