This was the BEST thing I’ve done for myself in so long! I never imagined I could teach yoga-I started the course to just learn more and have a community to practice with-but I have already started teaching and I can’t imagine not!
Chakras & Asana by YogaRenew is a self-paced online course examining the seven-chakra system through the practice of yoga asana. The program moves through each chakra in sequence, pairing energetic study with the physical poses that activate it. Designed for practicing teachers, the course closes with Yoga Alliance continuing-education registration so the hours count toward an existing RYT credential.
This course is built for yoga teachers and serious practitioners who want to weave chakra theory into asana sequencing. The Yoga Alliance continuing-education module assumes the student already holds an RYT credential and wants the hours to count toward renewal. Newcomers to yoga are welcome but will benefit most after a solid foundation in physical practice.
The course follows the ten-module structure of chakra study. After a short welcome and overview of the chakra system, each of the seven chakras is covered across three to four dedicated lessons: its fundamentals, the asanas associated with it, a guide to building a chakra-inspired class, and a full asana practice video for that chakra.
Practice videos run from roughly twenty minutes for the lower chakras to thirty minutes for the heart chakra. The fifth chakra includes a twenty-four-minute practice, and the sixth and seventh chakras share a final twenty-five-minute combined session. Across the curriculum, you study the energetic principles behind each chakra, the physical poses that engage it, and how to translate that pairing into a complete class sequence. The chakra-by-chakra format gives you a clear template you can adapt and bring into your own teaching. A closing module walks through how to register the completed hours as Yoga Alliance continuing education credits.
The course is fully self-paced and delivered through pre-recorded video lessons hosted on YogaRenew’s online platform. There are no live sessions and no fixed schedule — students start whenever they enroll and progress at their own speed. Lifetime access is included, so the material remains available across devices for as long as the account is active. A 30-day refund policy is offered if the course does not meet expectations.
Graduates can register the completed course hours as Yoga Alliance continuing education credits, applied toward an existing RYT registration. The final module walks through the registration process. The course is not an entry-level certification — it is structured continuing education for credentialed teachers.
