Andy Puddicombe is a meditation and mindfulness expert and co-founder of Headspace, where he serves as the voice of the app’s guided meditations. In his early twenties, he left a university degree in Sports Science to travel to the Himalayas and study meditation, beginning a ten-year journey that culminated in his ordination as a Tibetan Buddhist monk in Northern India.
He returned to lay life in 2004, training briefly at Moscow State Circus before completing a degree in Circus Arts at the Conservatoire of Dance and Drama in London, where he began drawing up the early plans for Headspace.
Andy is the author of three books now published in 25 countries and 10 languages. His 2012 TED Talk, “All it takes is 10 mindful minutes,” introduced millions to the practice. He has been featured in Vogue, The New York Times, the Financial Times, Entrepreneur, Men’s Health, Esquire, and on BBC, Netflix, and TED.
