Dr. Robert Adams leads the anatomy and physiology curriculum at The Handstand School, where he is referred to as “The Academic” of the founding team. As a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), he brings a clinical lens to handstand training — grounding the school’s methods in musculoskeletal anatomy, movement assessment, and the physical realities of how adult bodies build balance skills.
As both a practicing Physical Therapist and a Handstand Coach, Robert bridges rehabilitation-informed movement science and hand balance practice. This perspective shapes how the school teaches assessments across mobility, strength, and motor control, and how coaches are trained to address individual student needs safely and progressively.
Alongside co-founders Andrey Moraru and Kyle Weiger, Robert helped build the Level 1 Handstand Coaching Certification curriculum.
