qoya expert

Rochelle Schieck is the founder of Qoya Inspired Movement, which she created in 2009. Qoya is based on the idea that through movement we remember our essence as wise, wild, and free, and is designed to help people feel how the body and movement are a portal to remembering that essence — shifting perspective from going through the motions to savoring life as sacred.

Since its inception, Rochelle has trained hundreds of Qoya teachers, taught thousands of classes, and led dozens of retreats and pilgrimages in sacred places around the world. She shares the practice through classes, workshops, rituals, retreats, free online videos, a blog, and her book, Qoya: A Compass for Navigating an Embodied Life that is Wise, Wild and Free. Qoya has no levels and is open to people of any age or ability, and her work has been featured in outlets including New York Magazine, Oprah.com, The Telegraph, and Psychology Today.
