Biodynamic Breathwork

Biodynamic Breathwork is the online home of the Biodynamic Breath & Trauma Release System (BBTRS®), founded by Alexander ‘Giten’ Tonkov. The school trains practitioners in a consent-led, nervous-system-based method that combines breath, movement, sound, touch, emotion, and meditation to support trauma release within the body’s window of tolerance — rather than through catharsis or peak-state techniques.

Their programs range from personal growth retreats to professional practitioner certifications delivered live online in small mentored cohorts. The BBTRS® method and its trainings are recognised by the International Breathwork Foundation (IBF), the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance (GPBA), the Australian Breathwork Association (ABA), and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB). The institute’s senior faculty combine clinical counselling, somatic experiencing, and long-standing breathwork practice, and alumni go on to facilitate trauma-informed sessions across the globe.

BBTRS® has profoundly deepened my own embodiment, revealing how much I wasn't breathing fully. Integrating this work with my clients, especially therapists has taken their practice to a new level, helping them inhabit and love their bodies in ways they never thought possible. The ripple effect of this transtormation is truly rewarding.

After the workshop, I feel lighter and more connected to my body and the people around me, especially my partner. This experience has awakened a passion in me to share the power of this work with the outside world. The sense of community and support in our circle has been invaluable, allowing us to share our stories and uplift one another. I truly believe this work can bring healing to our society, addressing the unhealthy patterns many of us face.

Biodynamic Breathwork has been transformative for me. Unlike other modalities, it offers deep, effective release through physical and vocal expression. The supportive facilitators helped me integrate my experiences, and after my second training in Bali, I feel immense bliss and gratitude for the new knowledge and tools I've gained.
