NEU Pilates

NEU Pilates is a teacher training school co-founded by Pilates instructor Lara Yanik and physiotherapist Jen Gulley. Built across 17 years of practice inside three integrated Pilates and physiotherapy clinics, NEU Pilates teaches a method that combines classical Pilates repertoire with functional anatomy, postural assessment, and the NEU Fascia Method. The integrated approach is designed for instructors who want to work safely with real bodies, including clients managing pain, postpartum recovery, hypermobility, aging, and post-surgical rehab. The Mat, Reformer, Chair, Springboard, and Rehabilitation courses are delivered online with bite-sized video lessons, monthly live Q&A sessions with Lara and Jen, and a community forum for ongoing support. Students can complete the program in two to three months or take up to a year with extended access. The school’s certification is accredited by ACE (American Council on Exercise), and graduates teach in boutique studios, franchise studios, physiotherapy clinics, and home-based businesses worldwide. The NEU Pilates Teacher Training Program launched in 2017 and has trained students across continents.

After taking the NEU Pilates course my caseload increased and I was able to help my clients when they had pain and discomfort in certain exercises. I felt like I had tools to help them. That was a game changer for me for teaching Pilates.

Once I learned that Neu Pilates was created by both a Physiotherapist and Pilates instructor I knew that I had come to the right place. I believe the integration of the physiotherapy theory and Pilates movements plus the addition of Massage Therapy creates such a unique experience for my patients.

I chose NEU Pilates to elevate and refine my teaching skills. After being an instructor for various fitness styles for over 5 years now, which include yoga, barre, sculpt, and Pilates, I began to feel somewhat stagnant in my ability to provide students with advanced knowledge and heightened body awareness.

My experience with NEU Pilates during both Springboard, Mat and Reformer courses was beyond exceptional. Lara's energetic teaching style is relatable and inspires students to enjoy the process of instructing. Jen's years of physio practice also shines through in a cool way.

My Pilates journey started in 2019 with STOTT pilates with training up to advanced level in Mat and all equipment (Cadillac, Reformer, Barrels and Stability Chair) and while it was all amazing there was still a gap for me, something was still missing.
